Return to India

Over 2 years ago I left India to become the Head Coach at Northwest Nazarene University. It was my plan to stay there for an extended time and build a strong basketball program. I greatly enjoyed my time at NNU and had no plans to leave. While out on the lake fishing this past summer I received a call from an individual in the NBA office in New York letting me know about an open position with NBA India. Although I was hesitant initially, after talking with my family, praying, and consulting with close friends I became open to this opportunity. I felt good about the progress we made at NNU both on and off the court. With everyone returning, a strong recruiting class, and my assistant, Paul Rush, taking over I know the team will be much stronger this year and for years to come.

I heard someone say once that you should "Do what you do best, and go where it is needed most." This philosophy led me to India the first time around. It was an extremely difficult decision but when I was eventually offered the position I accepted and Chawn and I are headed back to India, this time working for the NBA. The position is Senior Director of Basketball Operations. I will be involved with developing players and coaches, overseeing the basketball academy, assisting with NBA sponsored events, and consulting with the India National Basketball teams.

Our main goal is to make a difference. I look forward to continuing the work of the NBA in India developing and promoting the game of basketball. This will also give me a platform to personally touch the lives of those I come in contact with. As this new challenge begins, I will continue to share the sights, sounds and happenings of our journey.
